Originally from Hawaii, Utah State University junior Emi Tano moved to Logan two years ago to pursue a bachelors degree in Journalism and Communication with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. Growing up in Hawaii as a Mormon provided a diverse backdrop and exposed her to a variety of beliefs and ideals. After returning from an 18 month LDS mission to Thailand in 2012, Tano has since taken interest in learning about different religious and spiritual groups after living amongst a Thai Buddhist and Muslim majority. Living in Logan, Utah, where religious awareness is heightened but diversity depressed, Tano hopes to bring more exposure of minority religious groups.
